Good Deeds Challenge #4

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi immediately after each prescribed (obligatory) prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.” Reported by An-Nasa’i and Ibn Hibban

Well, this one is pretty self-explanatory. Ayatul Kursi is one of our greatest gifts- a protection, a du’a, a dedicated approbation of ALLAH (SWT). I am embarrassed and humbled by ALLAH’s (SWT) mercy to His creation. ALLAH provides us with innumerable opportunities to distinguish ourselves in His eyes as beings worthy of Jannah. Are we taking them??? Or do we mutter Ayatul Kursi with hurried breaths to return to menial tasks? If you don’t already do this, please take AT LEAST one day and commit to reciting Ayatul Kursi after each fard prayer. If your kids try to speak to you, give them a gentle sign to wait— teach them what is important by example! If you do already do this, then Ma sha’ALLAH! For all of us, let’s try to focus on the power of this ayat- the complexity and gravity of its words, its message, and its prayer.

This is an excellent page on Ayatul Kursi (may ALLAH (SWT) reward the brother who did this. Ameen. His blog is excellent, ma sha’ALLAH!):
